CDM Coordination
CDMC Consulting Ltd acted as Planning Supervisors from the introduction of the CDM Regulations 1994. Since April 2007 we have acted as CDM Co-ordinators under the auspices of the new amended regulations. Over this time we have earned a reputation for effective practical but pragmatic compliance with our statutory duties.
We think of ourselves as an integral part of the design team and as such attend all design team and pre-start meetings. We believe that our role is one of facilitator, to ensure that risks that can be affected by design are identified, effectively assessed and where practicable controlled.
Recording and communication of information is a key part of our role and ensure that the Pre Construction Information Pack, the Design Risk Management Register and the Health and Safety File are conspicuous for their clarity.
As CDM Coordinators our primary roles is to:
- Give suitable and sufficient advice and assistance to the client on their compliance with the CDM Regulations;
- Ensure that suitable arrangements are made and implemented for the co-ordination of health and safety measures during planning and preparation for the construction phase;
- Take steps to identify, collect and communicate the pre-construction information;
- Ensure that designers comply with their duties under the regulations;
- Prepare or update the health and safety file.
